Congratulations, Jaykell, on winning "Fire Chief for the Day" for the province of New Brunswick. In October, all of the students brought home a Fire Safety Gazette. One of the activities inside was a ballot to fill out and return to your teacher. We mailed them in at the beginning of November, and Jaykell's name was chosen in the draw, for the whole province. Wow! 
Today, our classroom was visited by Benoit Laroche, our provincial Fire Marshall, Jeff Cross - St. Andrew's Fire Chief and one of the organizers of the fire safety campaign, Fire Chief Colin Bagley, Deputy Fire Chief Phillip Brown, Mayor Dennis Green, and several grand manan fire fighters. Today's visit and presentation was a surprise for the whole class! Jaykell was presented with his awards and prizes, and all the students in our kindergarten class also received a fire hat, and several fun items. We then had pizza and cake and ice cream for lunch, and then headed to the fire station for a tour there (both Kindergarten and K-2 Jones went to the fire station). Jaykell even got to wear the fireman's uniform! Before we left, we were given one more surprise - Santa was there to hand out treats! What a great afternoon!Kindergarten Homework:

*Please make sure all books are back before Friday.

*Friday is the last day before Christmas holidays.
*Santa Claus Parade at 6pm on December 19th.
*After Christmas, the students do not return to school until Wednesday, January 6th (The teachers return on Monday, January 4th), so you have an extra 2 days of vacation!
