Warm weather is here again!
Grade 2 Homework:
*Read a book or chapter each night and record title in reading log.
*Finish homework duotang by Friday.
*Practice spelling words for test on Friday (the, not, you, do, want, man, track, pack, lock, block)
Upcoming Events:
*Tuesday, September 27th is the 10th anniversary for our public library, so Clifford is coming to visit!
*We have an assembly on Friday at 1:20pm (always the last Friday of the month)
*On Monday, October 3rd we are fortunate to be able to watch a concert by The Celtic Rathskallions at 9am. Please bring $1 to help with costs.
*Book orders are due Sept. 6th.
*School Pictures are on October 7th - please be here if at all possible that day!
*There is no school on October 10th for Thanksgiving.
*Kindergarten registration for next year is from October 11-14. Contact the office.
*Elementary Drama will begin after Thanksgiving (on October 19th) and will be on Wednesdays from 3-4pm. All students in K-5 are welcome.
*We will have our first show and tell on October 20th, so start thinking of something interesting to bring in.
*October 21st is a curriculum day, so there is no school for students. The teachers will all be in meetings or training sessions that day, some travelling to different parts of the province.
*Our first Welcome to Kindergarten meeting (for next year's kindergarten students and parents) will be on October 26th at 6pm, so please encourage anyone you know to register their child early for kindergarten (students currently in preschool).
*Assembly on October 28th at 1:20pm.
*Halloween events on October 31st - bring your costume to wear in the afternoon.
*What kind of pattern did I use on the Blog today? If you can tell me at school you win a prize.

*The school Terry Fox Run is on Thrusday, September 22nd at 1:05pm.
*There is no school for students on September 23rd - it is a school improvement day where we will be meeting together to work on the goals for our school for this year.

September sun!
With September weather so unpredictable, please feel free to dress your child in layers or send a different change of clothes - sometimes it starts cool in the mornings and then turns hot in the afternoons, and other times the opposite happens.

Welcome to School!
Welcome to School! We had a wonderful first day today, although we missed going out to the playground because of the rain. Hopefully the sun will shine tomorrow!

Homework for this week:
*Read all of the information that came home with the Agendas, and fill out, sign and send back whatever needs to be.
*Bring $7 for Agendas.
*Read a book each night.
Schedule for this Year:
*The students have phys. ed. EVERY day.
*Music is still twice a week (Tues. and Frid.)
*Library is on Mondays.
*Assemblies will be the last Friday of every month from 1:20-1:50 pm.
*Elementary Drama will be on Wednesdays, and will start after Thanksgiving.
